Global Conversation ... a unique blend of joyous celebration & silence

Global Conversation - a fund raising concert by the Art of Living Foundation for youth projects.

Looking at the half full auditorium I realized that in spite of enough publicity many people shared the same doubt about the artists - how good are they & how good will the music be!! I went to the concert not knowing anything about the Artists and yet, knowing from my past experiences with Art of Living Concerts that it will definitely be a beautiful experience ...

And as the artists entered and George Brooks began introducing each one of them .. I could sense the belongingness & love they shared with each other. There was such a sense of friendship & love that I knew that this will be a unique concert. Kala Ramnath was the most unique of them all. She had such a beautiful presence .. and what a wonderful smile. And when she played, I totally transcended.

It was like her fingers didn't play on the guitar but on the strings of my heart. Tears flowed from my eyes ... and as the other artists joined in .. my whole body vibrated with the music. There was so silence and yet at the same there was so pulsating dynamism. Joy, Enthusiasm & Friendship vibrated from every space in the auditorium. I just wanted to get up & dance... Jugalbandhi were fabulous!!

The camaraderie between Kala & The Tabla Artist was beautiful...
George Brooks played ragas on the Saxaphone. It was beautiful!! The enthusiasm & movement in the piano artist, the smile & flow on the drumming artist, the presence of the Base Guitar - Artist - everything jelled in beautifully!!

Somehow it was such an intimate performance and really suited for that size of the audience.
I was glad I went to the concert and it was one of my best ones ...

And of course, it was also Debanti's birthday and we had a surprised all planned for her. We secretly took her out of the hall. And when she walked in everyone was in and on the stage singing 'HappyBirthday to You'. It was beautiful!!

Grateful for this joyous moment ....
