It is not often I see a movie that speaks about terrorism without any bullshit (sorry for the use of the word) about secularism, religion attached to it! The last one which inspired me from the very gut was 'Rang De Basanti' but then the movie ended in such deep tragedy as though the director himself didn't really thing that what the youth did was the right thing to do! And the movie really left a irreparable scar in my heart!
And then comes along another movie which I just saw - the Best ever movie made on terrorism without any agenda, any hoo-hoo-haa-haa, any crap on religion and secularism! My kudos to the director, Neeraj Pandey and of course, hats off to Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher for being in it! The movie I am talking about is: WEDNESDAY
It is not that there arent enough good people in the world!
It is not that there arent enough people who want peace in the world!
It is not that there arent enough people who want to end corruption and terrorism in the world!
It is ONLY that the voices of those who seek the above is not LOUD enough!
It is a muffled sound in living rooms, heated discussions on trains and offices, it is a murmur of silence!
When are we going to STAND UP & SPEAK OUT against terrorism, corruption, drugs and violence! When are we going to stop equating everything to religion! When are we going to stop judging a person based on his color, name, and caste!
When are we going to wake up!
WEDNESDAY made the message LOUD & CLEAR, it is time for the common man to start taking responsibility of our home! It is time to take out the BROOM and WIPE away the DIRT from our Homes! It is time for our Young Men to get into Politics, Police, Media, Business, Education and do some MAJOR CLEANUP!
IT IS TIME FOR ACTION!
IT IS TIME TO RESESTABLISH THE LOST SPIRIT OF INDIA!
IT IS TIME TO REINSTATE THE LOST GLORY OF INDIA!
The INDIA which paved the way for the world!
The INDIA which was hometo Institutions like TAKSHASHILA & NALANDA where people from all over the globe came to get mastered in science & spirituality!
STOP BLAMING OTHERS! WHAT CAN YOU DO! DO IT!
The common man needs to WAKE UP now!
Bahut Ho Chuki beparwafi..
Bahut ho chuki hai Tabahi...
Ab aa gaya hai waqt kuch kar dikhane ka..
Seena Tan kar chalo bad chale..
Ab aa gaya gai waqt karm kar dikhane ka!
Pukar rahi hai dharti, Ab aur deer na karo!
Aage bado. Awaaz buland karo.
Aa gaya hai waqt, aangan saaf kar dikhane ka!
Seena Tan kar chalo bad chale..
Ab aa gaya hai waqt kuch kar dikhane ka!

I totally agree with whatever you have written Rekha. I keep telling Jeevan that when people are associating terrorism with a particular religion, it seems totally baseless as it is not the religion but the sick people and such people do not belong to any religion in the first place.
I loved the way you have put things in the right perception. Your voice is loud and clear and what you had to say about 'A Wednesday' is again exactly what I felt after watching the movie. Very simple, very realistic and moreover no strings attached to any one thing, pure enlightenment of a common man and his response to end what's going wrong in the society.
